    Skipping necessary quests

Just a quick note. Love the guides but I was bringing up another character through the last few levels to 80 using the SIS and, since the character is (was) 78 I was jumping past a ton of stuff ... (Thank you very much!!

One issue - and I am not sure if I am going to see this repeated with the rest of the similar situations - but the guide took to the basin and me past the quests necessary to get the parts needed to rebuild the flier and straight to "get the flight path".

I ran through the quests quickly since I know them and have done them for a bunch of other characters but this is really a situation where if someone did not know they would be stuck. (As I may be a bit later ... not sure how well I remember them all!)

I personally recommend to turn off the SIS once you hit 60 and go to the Outlands. Starting at this point in the guides there are so many quests dependent on other things that it's too easy for the guide to skip something important and not realize it.

Yeah - I think I will turn it of for what remains - it just would have been really rough clicking through each step until I got to where I should be. (Which is the long way of saying I am too danged lazy! :P)

I also have to say I get a hoot out of watching the flashing lights and hearing the dinging bells as it flashing through letting me know all of the cool stuff I have already accomplished. I have a 64th level I started at the level 1 guide and ran the SIS. I sat there grinning at the screen like a fool while it merrily flashed and dinged away. What can I say - I love validation! :P

There are things in the works to eliminate this from happening, but it will take time to work out all the bugs. Anytime you find this happening somewhere please don't hesitate to post it up in the Bugs forum so that it can be investigated.

I thought the SIS queried the server for completed quests, so the guide shouldn't be skipping uncompleted quests.

It does do that. However, SIS also skips obsolete incomplete, or impossible, quests if you have it setup to do so. That's usually why it skips incomplete quests, but sometimes it is an actual bug we need to fix - usually a problem with the quest's chaining.

Do you not want the guide to skip any quests at all? Is that what you're going for?

If so, go into the options menu for our guide (right-click the checkmark button on our guide viewer window). On the left side, click the + next to ZygorGuidesViewer, then click Dynamic Progress.

In the Dynamic Progress options, uncheck all of the check boxes and move the slider bar all the way up to 80.

This will make the guide not skip any steps at all, so may be less confusing for you while you get acquainted with our guides.

SIS is the acronym for Smart Injection System.
Next to your minimap there is a silver Z. Right-click this for the interface, then left-click Zygor Guides. Now left-click the + sign by 'Dynamic Progress.
I recommend spending a bit of time in here to get familiar with what you can do and change in here. Hover your mouse over the box descriptions such as "Skip impossible steps."
What was referred to in here was the slider selector bar. If you leave it at default 0 (zero) your guide will skip quests to keep you 100% with the guide. If you are level 44, and the guide is in level 43, it will skip quests to get itself into level 44 portion of the guide quests.
If you move that slider to 80, you will not skip a single quest in the guide.
Most have the slider set to 3 or 4 ahead, then some move the slider to 80 once they hit outlands and northrend.
Again, spend some time in Dynamic Progress to get familiar with how you can tailor your guide to fit your wants.
"The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas."

I am CDO. This is a lot like OCD, except the letters are in alphabetical order... as they should be.

SiS works pretty well. However there are some quests that have prerequisites that need to be fulfilled. Also, I have +20% experience gain from equipment plus 2 weeks worth of rested, so I'm leveling my DK like the world is about to end. I'm getting lots of XP and SiS is skipping quests not needed and quests that are essential.

For example, if your reputation with a faction requires that you be neutral, friendly, revered, honored, or exalted, you will have to earn rep points before accepting a quest Zygor directs you to.

Here is a specific example about getting the quest "Marks of Kil'jaeden" (Step 28 in the Alliance guide 64-66). I read a Thotbott post on how to get this quest after Zygor's SiS system skipped perquisites (SiS was set to 0):

                            =====
"Okay, I've read through all the posts and it seems this question is repeatedly answered but, in the name of clarity, here goes.

Speak to the Haggard War Veteran and accept the quest A'dal. (SiS skipped this)

Once you complete that quest (A'dal is the big christmas tree ornament in the very VERY middle of Shatt), a yellow ? will pop up over the head of Khadgar. Talk to him.

Khadgar will offer you a quest in which a light-blue voidwalker will take you around Shattrath, showing you where the Aldor and Scryer "areas" are located. You must remain within range of the voidwalker-thingy otherwise you will fail the quest (think of it as an escort quest). He will eventually return you to Khadgar. DO NOT LEAVE THE VOIDWALKER-THINGY UNTIL YOU GET THE QUEST COMPLETED MESSAGE! Go back to Khadgar AFTER you get the QUEST COMPLETED message.

Khadgar will then offer you a follow-up quest to choose either the Aldor or Scryer faction with which to ally. No, you can't do both.

(Since you're reading this I'm assuming you want to choose Aldor)

The follow-up quest will take you to the Aldor "area" you visited during your tour of Shattrath with the blue voidwalker.

                            Now, for the rep!

                            Mark of Kil'Jaedan:

You must be at least level 62 in order to turn these in. You can turn them in until your reputation with the Aldor reaches Honored.
                            ========

                            Original Post:

                            http://thottbot.com/v4140685

You get initial rep from accepting Allegiance to the Aldor (which SiS has also skipped) and therefore could not get the "Marks of Kil'jaeden" quest.

Frankly I wish John Cook had spent more of the 8 mins. telling about the limitations if SIS instead of overselling it. It is fraught with danger - if you skip too fast ahead you may level but you are going to miss out on rep and chain quests that will bite you in the ass later!!
