Cataclysm F.A.Q.

I didn’t see this asked so I’m gonna ask it....
If I don’t have a guide at all right now will I be buying 1 guide (zygor 1-85) or will I be buying 2 guides (zygor 1-80 & Zygor 80-85?)

IN other words is it more beneficial right now to say “wait” to get the guide all at once, or am I going to have to buy 2 guides anyhow.

I obviously have the guide already, but I’m being asked by potential customers and I’d like to have an answer for them.

Also,
If say the 1-80 is $50 and the 80-85 is $20, will the 1-85 be $70....I guesss the question is, “is there any benefit to NOT buying the guide now and just waiting (other than the lack of being able to use Zygor guide until Cat drops)

Since there's no set pricing yet for the update (80-85 portion) it's impossible to say right now what the full guide price will be for a 1-85 guide. This makes it really hard to answer your question. Either way, I don't know how anyone could live without the guides and I can't imagine waiting another 8 months or so (no release date for Cataclysm so this is just a guess).

Where do you see that the Cataclysm "test realm" is up? Far as we know there has been no announcements whatsoever regarding the Cataclysm alpha, beta, or anything else that's testable yet.

Sending beta invites out to the media. It's not available to anyone else but them at the moment, and Blizzard has not released an official beta date yet.

Kinda something i have wondered.

Is the Staff going to update the site orange and red and brown and stuff to help match with the Cataclysm colors, or will it stay the same layout as it is now?

Considering that Blizz has fallen pretty much silent over Cataclysm and not a mention of Beta and the release date. I have no idea what all the moaning about is!

Considering that Zygor have expressed their goal to have the 80 to 85 Guide out on Cat release, all the updates, content changes, and leveling guide involved in Cat expansion - $50 sounds fine with me for the work involved.

BTW - no one is forcing you to buy it!

There willl most likely be a major redesign of the entire site themed for Cataclysm.

As I remember, exactly the same discussion was going on pre-release of WoLK. Whether or not to pay for the new part of the guide, how much it would cost, etc etc. Also, another thing that was being discussed then was wether or not the guide should be a pay-per-month service.

Same thing applies now, to both parties in this discussion, as it did then. Zygor staff need to be compensated for their work but the expansion should not be overpriced - for various reasons affecting both customers and Zygor which I already wrote in the day.

As for me I think I've done my part in compensating for the work they've put in. During the pre-WoLK discussion I was one of those who appealed for reasonable prices and a one-time-purchase of the guide.
I said then that I would seriously consider buying the other guide too, just like others like me, if pricing was reasonable. Zygor did what they could to make us all happy at the same time they kept doing business, and I don't think they will change policy now.

As for me, I decided to honour what I wrote then, and now bought all the other guides when they "went on sale". This despite the fact that I haven't played WoW for about 6 months (you never know, I may come back to the game one day), so I feel I've contributed to the cause

Meanwhile, as someone else stated, this discussion is not relevant at the moment since Blizz hasn't even come out with a release date.

I think he was asking because, I believe, only friends, family, or members of the press are invited to the alpha test. Thank you for the offer, though, we will let you know if we think of something you can help us with. :-)

I see. Yea I am a friend of a GM. That is how I got into the Alpha.
