The Altar of Corrosion has four locked choice nodes that provide unique benefits and aid with you progressing to certain parts of the Altars tree.
The guide will run through how to unlock the four choice nodes, from where to find the items and where they are used.

Spiritual Protection
The first one is Spiritual Protection, which is the far left choice node. To unlock this you will need to get the Dispelling Charm, this drops from High Priest Jin’tal/Spirit of Jin’tal in the Vault of Restless Bones /way 61.03 47.32 which is the left side of the Vaults of Atal’Utek
Once you have the Dispelling Charm, next you need to take it to the crypts found on the far right of the Vaults /way 36.52 25.26 her you will find Jin’tal’s Reliquary on a shelf. Interact with it to get the item that start’s the quest “The Protection of the Med’jai” simply return to Er’inye at the Altar of Corrosion, hand in the quest and the perk will be unlocked
Spectral Winds
The second one is Spectral Winds, which is the choice node second from the left. To unlock this you will need to get the Spirit Loupe, this drops from an Ancient Foe, which is spawned after successfully completing an Incursion event in the Vaults.
Once you have the Spirit Loupe, head to the northern central platform just before the raid. On the right side just before the staircase you will see a small platform that you can jump onto /way 48.52 25.75 Successfully jump onto this to reach the item for you to interact with. From this you will get the quest “The Winds of Tok’jara” simply return to Er’inye at the Altar of Corrosion, hand in the quest and the perk will be unlocked
Run of the Vaults
The third one is Rune of the Vaults, which is the choice node second from the right. To unlock this you will need to get the Corroded Key, this drops during the Cursed Depths Temple Strike, from clearing the Central Chamber is where I got mine.
Alternatively it can drop from a Venom-Worn Coffer which spawn at the various venom waterfalls found around the Vaults.
Once you have the Corroded Key, head to the right side of The Seal of Wrath, in the venom waters you will find the chest /way 53.94 17.69 to use the Corroded Key on. From opening the chest you will get the quest “The Luck of the Bound Spirit” simply return to Er’inye at the Altar of Corrosion, hand in the quest and the perk will be unlocked
Broodmaster
The final one is Broodmaster, which is the furthest to the right. This is unlocked from obtaining the Excising Knife. The Excising Knife is awarded from completing the an Incursion event. Once successfully completed you will be awarded with the knife.
Once you have the Excising Knife, you next want to head to The Underbelly which is a section you can access from the most northern part of the map. Make your way around The Underbelly until you reach a circular room with a venom pool, in the center is an eye for you to use the knife on. Once you loot the eye you will get the quest “The Watchful Gaze of Szarith” simply return to Er’inye at the Altar of Corrosion, hand in the quest and the perk will be unlocked.
Now you will have all four of the choice nodes unlocked in the Altar of Corrosion allowing you to access their perks and reach parts of the Altar of Corrosion that previously weren’t possible.
