Client says I don't have internet

Message pops up saying "We were unable to connect to the internet. Please check your internet connection and try again."

I thought maybe it was the fact that I was on wifi and it wasn't picking up, so I disabled wifi and my computer is now hardwired to the internet and I still get this message. That was yesterday. I stayed hardwired today and no success. I tried installing the client again and still get the same message. This has been going on for 2 days.

The client still works in the game just fine, but I can't update my guides. Any suggestions?

Check your anti-virus and firewall software, most likely one of them is blocking the connection for the client/Java.

This check is nothing more than creating a connection to well-known servers that have 100% uptime, so it's not necessarily your internet not being connected, rather java isn't being given the permission to make connections. (I understand this is misleading, I'll look into re-wording this message, though 99% of the time, java has the proper permissions to make connections).

As Zygor Support said, ensure that java isn't being blocked by your antivirus/firewall. Let us know if you have further issues.

So I went in and looked and it seemed blocked at first but I've allowed Java to go through the firewall, but it still tells me that I need to check my internet connection.

What about your anti-virus software? You can also try reinstalling Java to see if that helps. And try restarting the computer too.

Java has been reinstalled and fully updated. My computer has been rebooted as well as I turn it off at the end of the day. I shut my firewall off to try it, but the client is still telling me the same thing. I have McAfee, which I don't care for much anymore as it's caused so many problems with my computer. I'm thinking about going with a different program, but McAfee has never been a problem with the Zygor client before though as I've had both for years. It's just a bit frustrating. I guess I'll just have to wait until the weekend when I have more time to get a different anti-virus system and see if maybe McAfee is truly causing the problem... unless you have any other suggestions? I appreciate the help so far.

You could always do a quick uninstall of McAfee for testing purposes and if you still can't connect without McAfee on the system then you know it's something else and can reinstall McAfee again. As long as you're not doing any web surfing or downloading anything during the time that McAfee is uninstalled (just testing the client fast then reinstall right away) you should not have to worry about being infected with anything.
