Wont install on Mac

Got the client installer and upgraded Java, but the client won't install. The file uncompresses, but when I open the client, I get a black "Client Update" window where it seems to try to update the client, but that window just disappears and nothing happens. Running the MacOS version and MacOS Sierra.

Try reinstalling a fresh copy of Java. www.java.com
