Blizzard Default Quest Progress Message in the Upper Middle of the Screen Not Showing

For some reason the default blizzard message for quest progress does not display (yellow progress message in the middle top of the screen).

Following I have done already to trouble shoot:

Deleted the cache file.

Deleted the WTF file for the toon it is affecting.

Cleared the recycle bin.

Cleared all the saved variables.

Uninstalled/reinstalled Zygor Guide.

Disabled Zygor Guide in the addons - works fine when not running.

After doing all the previous steps besides the last one, the default blizzard progress message does not work.

I also tried this on different toons:

One in WotLK expansion, worked fin.

One in MoP, one I'm having problems with, not working properly.

Another in MoP, and it works fine.

Is there anything else I can do? It seems to be only affecting just the one toon.

Please help with any suggestions if this is an error that has been resolved but I have not found the solution for.

Try comparing the Interface settings between the different toons. I'm referring to the Blizzard settings and not the different addon settings. Maybe something in the quests section like quest tracking or something like that.

Ok, try this. The following will do a complete guide reset for all of your toons and might fix the problem you're seeing if it's because of the guides. Go to your WoW/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables folder (not the toon or server specific one) and delete the Zygor files in there.

I did what you told me to do and it showed the message once and then stopped. So, I turned off all addons (i don't have that many, maybe 5) it worked once, then stopped working. I turn off the Zygor guide and then the yellow text returns... /sigh

When you are in game and you open the guide selection window (small drop down arrow on guide viewer) what does it display in the lower left corner for guide version?
