Issues with the viewer

I have installed and have been using the guides for a couple months. Unfortunately, I've run into some kind of snag:
About a week ago my viewer stopped appearing on my interface (same interface I've been using since installing Zygor and I've had no other issues with it up to this point). I have confirmed (both unchecked then checked again) that the Zygor addon in game and on the title screen after hitting the addon button that the Zygor addon is indeed active. Further, I have some element of Zygor active while ingame (there is a small box at the top of my screen that if I mouse over it I get a dropdown menu of equipment it is suggesting I equip). I tried to find a solution in the forums here, and saw a description that was describing my symptoms so I followed the recomendation from that post: delete the "ZygorGuidesViewer.lua" from my WTF folder. I've now done that and now I get an error when I log into the game about Zygor. Below is the text I get:

I would appreciate some advice as to how to correct this issue.

This sounds like a corrupted file or an addon conflict happening. Try doing a full guide wipe/reset.

1. exit WoW
2. go to the WoW/Interface/Addons folder and delete the ZygorGuidesViewer folder
3. go to the WoW/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables folder and delete the Zygor files in there
4. run the desktop client and install a fresh copy of the guides
5. go back in game to test and let me know if that fixed it

If that does not fix it then try disabling all other addons so only Zygor is enabled and log in to see if it works that way. If so then it's some sort of conflict with another addon, most likely one that needs to be updated.

Great advice... now a stupid question: what is the desktop client called (so I can search for it)?

If you don't have a desktop shortcut for the Zygor Guides Client then run the client installer that you can get from the Members area. When you run it do not change the check boxes (they're already selected by default when solid grey) and that will get a desktop shortcut created for you to use.
