Carbonite Waypointing

I get a LUA error when I attempt to use Carbonite waypointing. The built-in waypointing works fine. I have deleted all Zygor and Carbonite folders in addons and installed both manually, I have also deleted not just their files in WTF, but rebuilt the entire WTF file from scratch. This occurs even with Zygor and Carbonite are the only addons loaded.

Some people have Carbonite waypoints working but I also noticed the error.
What language is your WoW client and what guide and zone does this occur? It happened to me (german client) in the Worgen zone when the built in waypoints did not work there on the german client before the recent guide update. But as I don't use Carbonite I did not test this further.

English (US) Client, in the Worgen zone. I'm about halfway through level 10 and it hasn't worked properly since. I assumed it may have been because some of my other addons were out of date, but once I had those issues resolved it was still occuring.

I'll check tomorrow and see if it occurs in other zones with different toons as well.

Yup, running 1577. I was just coming here to report this very same error, just updated to 1577 a couple of minutes ago, then did a clean WTF bug test loading only Zygor Guide and Carbonite.

Like the OP, I'm only getting this error in the Worgen starter zone, on a new Worgen character, on a new server... it does not occur on my main server and Horde characters. I just created a Goblin earlier this evening, and it was working OK for that. AFAICT, its only the very beginning of the Worgen starter area, but not sure how far in it will continue to error.

When I try to log in or /rl, the Chat log tells me that the Worgen 1-13 guide was loaded, then displays a "Error Initializing, check the LUA error and report it" warning.

Ok, it appears to be only the Worgen starter zone/guide that is affected by this error. I verified that all my Horde toons were working OK and then created a new Human on the same new server as my Worgen, and was able to enable the Carbonite arrow without error. (using my old WTF files too) I'm not going to check the other Alliance races, I'm tired, getting cranky and not getting paid to test this stuff, so heading off to bed.

It sounds like when the team fixed the arrow problems in the Worgen guide that it got fixed for the built in arrow but not the external arrows. For now the only recommendation I can make is to use the built in arrow for the Worgen starting area and then switch back to Carbonite after you leave Gilneas. Hopefully the team will have a fix tomorrow for this, and I'm sure they appreciate you testing different scenarios, as do I.

This Carbonite error in the Worgen zone exists from the beginning of the 3.0 guide. I got the same error when I tried Carbonite to get rid of the waypoint problems yesterday.

Yea, its not a problem, I'm just using the built-in until I hit the EK guides. I usually test until I find the bad line (old habit) but ran out of time and energy. I'm sure they'll find it quickly.

I didn't realize others had gone ahead and tested this out. Thanks for that everyone! I can confirm it worked fine after I left Gilneas.
