Gold guide ? Is it only for like really OLD expansions ?

So i just stumbled onto it again today just looking around. So i popped it up, scanned the auction house and then started telling me to buy old stuff like deep sea satin. So then i opened the farm guide and it was telling me to go farm old mats from silithius for 10 hours to make 35k gold ?

Im so confused is this outdated and not really a thing anymore ?

Kind of.
It checks the auction house and since there are many old mats in the auction house it qualify as "reliable" information. Less quantity doesn't make the cut, cause less people put those items in sale.
Reliability doesn't really work like that since many people could put useless items in sale and nobody will buy them. AH API just records what's being listed (unless they changed it) not what's actually being sold (since people could list an item, let the API snapshots the item, then de-list it and it could seem that it's being sold to someone).
IMO you should take the stats with a grain of salt, trends are actually good, so you can see if the prices are falling or not, to buy or sell respectively, but definitely not farm 10 hours of old mats (maybe you could farm them 30 min - 1 hours and list them to see if there's still demand)

Also make sure that you have updated the trend data with the desktop app. If you have old trend data that will mess with your results.
