The launch of World of Warcraft: Legion and Zygor’s Legion Guides are just days away. The guides we have created for this expansion are the most well written and polished guides we’ve ever released and we can’t wait for you to begin using them. Make sure your account is Legion ready on Day One by signing up for Elite, or upgrading your existing guides (must have purchased before December 10th).
Waiting for the game to release can be agony, we know, which is why we’ve prepared this short online guide to prepare you for what awaits in this new expansion. With Zygor Legion Guide’s we’ve organized things to be as clear and easy to follow as possible, but due to the non-linear nature of Legion we felt it would be helpful to provide a roadmap of what to expect in order to familiarize you with the general flow of Legion, and how to best use Zygor’s Legion guides for the best overall experience. This roadmap is broken into two sections:
How To Level From 100 to 110 (Main Leveling)
01) Get Your First Artifact Weapon
While leveling in Legion you’ll no longer earn new weapon upgrades as you complete quests. Instead, you’ll unlock “Artifacts”, which are special weapons that you will use for the entire expansion. These are based on legendary weapons specific to your class and spec. As you perform activities in Legion you’ll earn Artifact Power which can then be spent to enhance the weapons abilities.
The first thing you’ll want to do when starting out in Legion is to acquire your first artifact weapon. To begin with, you’ll unlock one artifact for your current class/spec. Later, at level 102, you’ll be able to unlock the artifacts for your other specs.
If you’re a Demon Hunter you’ll want to use the Demon Hunter starter guide found under:
Leveling / Starter Guides / Demon Hunter Starter & Artifacts
This guide will walk you through the Demon Hunter starter zone of Mardum, before transitioning into obtaining your first Artifact weapon.
All other classes will use the Legion Intro & Artifacts guide found under:
Leveling / Legion / Legion Intro & Artifacts
This guide will walk you through the Legion starter zone of The Broken Shores, before transitioning into obtaining your first Artifact weapon.
02) Reach Level 101 Through Questing
One major change in Legion is that the quests and monsters in each zone scale to your characters level. This allows you to complete the zones in any order you choose. Select a zone from the Scouting Map to begin leveling your character. Alternatively, you can run any of the new dungeons as well which include: Darkheart Thicket, Eye of Azshara, Halls of Valor, and Neltharion’s Lair. You have to be level 98 and have an item level of 680 or more to enter these dungeons. However, we recommend using the Leveling guides as Dungeons no longer grant a lot of XP and you’ll gain reputation with some of the Legion factions which you’ll need in the end game to unlock World Quests.
Despite the freedom of choice present in Legion there IS actually a recommended order to complete the zones in. Some of the other activities you’ll be undertaking, such as class hall quests, will have you visit certain zones, so it actually works out to be more efficient if you go to the zones that correspond with your class hall quests. You can see a table of our recommended zone order based on each class below. Keep in mind you are not required to quest in this order, this is mainly if you want to complete things in the most efficient way possible.
DEATH KNIGHT: Val’sharah Azsuna Highmountain Stormheim |
DEMON HUNTER: Val’sharah Azsuna Highmountain Stormheim |
DRUID: Val’sharah Azsuna Highmountain Stormheim |
HUNTER: Val’sharah Highmountain Stormheim Azsuna |
MAGE: Azsuna Val’sharah Highmountain Stormheim |
MONK: Val’sharah Azsuna Highmountain Stormheim |
PALADIN: Azsuna Val’sharah Highmountain Stormheim |
PRIEST: Azsuna Val’sharah Highmountain Stormheim |
ROGUE: Stormheim Val’sharah Azsuna Highmountain |
SHAMAN: Azsuna Val’sharah Highmountain Stormheim |
WARLOCK: Azsuna Val’sharah Highmountain Stormheim |
WARRIOR: Stormheim Highmountain Val’sharah Azsuna |
3) Complete Your First Class Order Hall Questline (Optional)
After hitting 101 you should see a SIS popup recommendation alerting you that your first Class Order Hall (class hall) questline is available. Class Halls are alot like what Garrisons were in Warlords of Draenor. They act as a central hub for the members of your class and allow you to upgrade your artifact weapons and send Champions (think Followers in Draenor) on missions.
This step is optional but recommended because some aspects of the Class Halls, like missions, can take upwards of 12 hours for your champions to complete. You’ll also earn the Loremaster of Legion achievement by completing all the Leveling guides.
You will continue to use Leveling / Legion / Class Hall Quests guide to complete this questline together with the main Leveling guides until you reach the point that it tells you you need to be Level 103 to progress further.
04) Get Your Second Artifact Weapon (Optional)
At level 102 you’ll see a SIS popup with the option to unlock your second artifact if you wish. However, when you complete the first zone the guide will automatically route you back to the Artifact guide where you’ll have the choice of getting your second weapon or proceeding to the next questing zone.
05) Reach Level 103 Through Questing
Return to questing in the previous zone. Continue questing until you reach level 103. At level 103 the dungeon Assault on Violet Hold opens up if you have an item level of 720 or more.
06) Complete Your Second Class Order Hall Questline (Optional)
After hitting 103 you should see a SIS popup recomendation alerting you that your second Class Order Hall questline is available. Use the Class Hall Quests guide to complete this questline until you reach the point that it tells you that you need to be Level 110 in order to continue.
07) Reach Level 110 Through Questing
Return to the leveling guides for the remaining 4 zones until you reach level 110. At level 105 the dungeons Black Rook Hold, Maw of Souls, and Vault of the Wardens open up if you have an item level of 775 or more.
08) Complete Your Third Class Hall Quest
Once you hit 110 you should see a SIS popup to complete your third class hall questline. Run through this section of the guide and you will eventually reach a point with missions that will take days to continue any further. You are now ready to begin the end game experience!
What To Do When You Reach Level 110 (End Game)
09) Raise Your Reputation To Unlock World Quests
At Level 110 you will automatically accept your first world quest which actually serves to unlock more world quests throughout Legion. World Quests are basically a reimagination of what Dailies used to be in past expansions. In order to turn this first world quest in you will need to reach “Friendly” reputation status with all 5 factions in Legion. If you’ve completed all of the leveling guides up until this point you’ll already have this done, otherwise you’ll need to go back and complete all of the leveling guides. You can use the info below to determine which guide you need to use for each faction:
Court of Farondis | Leveling / Legion / Azsuna |
Dreamweavers | Leveling / Legion / Val’Sharah |
Highmountain Tribe | Leveling / Legion / High Mountain |
Valarjar | Leveling / Legion / Stormheim |
The Nightfallen | Leveling / Legion / Suramar 110 |
After reaching Friendly status you can turn in the first world quest which will give you the Flight Master’s Whistle (an item with a 5 minute cooldown that transports you immediately to the nearest flightmaster) and unlock more world quests throughout all of Legion.
Non-Elite customers will need to purchase the Dailies & Events Legion upgrade to access the World Quests content, and the Titles & Reputations Legion upgrade to access the Nightfallen reputation content.
10) Complete World Quests
Now you can focus on using the Dailies / Legion / Legion World Quests guide to complete world quests in Suramar, and in other zones, to earn gear, gain class hall order resources (currency for things you can do in your class hall) and artifact power to improve your artifact weapons. You can also complete the Suramar leveling guide, world quests, and Nightfallen rep guide to increase your reputation with The Nightfallen to Exalted
NOTE: At release, the Suramar guides will have a ton of content, but will not be entirely finished until after release. Additionally, due to the random nature of world quests, we may not have all the Suramar world quests written, and will add more over time – same with world quests in all other zones, as well.
I remember the anticipation leading up to Legion’s release, and Zygor’s guides were a lifesaver. The transition to Artifacts was a game-changer, and having a clear roadmap made the journey even more enjoyable. Thanks, Zygor, for making our WoW experience smoother! 100Seguidores
Exciting times! Zygor’s Legion Guides seem like the perfect companion for the upcoming World of Warcraft: Legion launch. The shift to Artifacts and the flexible questing order in this expansion sound intriguing. Can’t wait to dive in and explore this new adventure with Zygor’s help!
Bon guide, qui nous permet de savoir ce qui nous attend et comment vous allez nous aider.

I so rely on zygor! I can’t say enough good things about it. I do have one great big request and that is about Legion’s Suramar… Blizzard has really dropped the ball on this zone and I’m not the only one who feels this way. WE need a map of individual “city areas” for Suramar. the mini-map is not the answer. Greatly appreciate if someone over in Zygor would see to this.
at the risk of sounding dumb….What’s an SIS popup?
“Smart Injection System”. It’s basically the popup that tells you when it’s safe to move to the next guide.
One note:
I was under the impression that XP was nerfed in dungeons and that the best way to run them is after you’ve completed the respective zone and have quests for the dungeon? You get about 30,000 XP for using the dungeon finder but I believe the XP earned by killing things in the dungeon is minimal, plus the queue times have been around an hour or longer.
Indeed. The guide has now been updated to reflect this.
Seeing as you guys have done such a sterling job on this excellent Legion guide, can I ask for a real life guide please. I am especially interested in a guide to get exalted in love and happiness.
Thanks again to Zygor, you guys deserve getting knighthoods for services to the WoW community.
I would like to sign up for the life guide too! Let me know as soon as its available
Thanks for the info on how to do Legion. It is really helpful. This plus the Zygor guides are just what I need. I was wondering how to get my champions.
Hi. Any news on when the professions for Legion will be ready? Plus when the waypoint system will be fixed? Thanks
We will be adding the following in the coming weeks:
Professions Guides for getting to level 800
Gold Guide update for Legion items
Legion Achievements
Legions Pets/Mounts (although the main reputations are already available in the Leveling Guide)
Legion Points of Interest
Hi, when can we download the leveling guide please? Thanks
Great job!! Thanks!!
Nice 😀
Where do we start the questline on launch? Org? Dalaran?
Hope I can get to end game with all my factions. Hopefully this guide will get me there. It’s been great leveling my Monk up with it. I now have 5 almost 6 level 100 characters. Lots of hours involved.
Great guide, this will help me know what to do next!
Awesome, cant wait to start getting stuck in the game again 😀 Though the guides definitely makes it a lot harder not to get stuck.
Thanks for the roadmap. I’d love to see this maintained and expanded as ongoing part of your service — something to tell players of different types (i.e., raid / pvp / achievement / professions / pet / others? focus) what the right order to be doing things in is.
In my final vision I’d love to be able to check boxes on some intro part of the guide indicating what major content areas I’d like to eventually complete, so it could sequence / interleave steps accordingly.
good job nice to see how serious you are about these guides
Nice guide, letting us know what we have in store for us and how you are going to help.
