Zygor Update for The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition Pre-Patch

by (3 weeks ago).

The pre-patch for The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition is expected to go up later today. You should now be able to install this version of the game using the Battle.net client as shown below:

The servers are expected to come up after an extended 24-hour maintenance which you can read about here.

We have our own guide update planned to go out alongside this release. This will require an update to the Zygor Guides client to add a new entry for The Burning Crusade Anniversary Edition. We could not make this client update until Blizzard added this version of the game to the Battle.net client, as we needed to see how they named and set up the directories and other details.

Now that they have added this version, we are preparing the client update and are aiming to have it distributed ahead of the servers coming back up (though there could be a delay). In the meantime, the manual download link is available if you wish to manually install the addon yourself, ahead of the client update.

NOTE: The “AddOns” folder is not created until you log into the game for the first time, so we recommend you log in first (and exit) or manually create this folder before using either install method (manual or client). It should be created like so:
World of Warcraft / _anniversary_ / Interface / AddOns

We will update this post when the client update is available. We appreciate your patience in this matter.

Is there no prequest guide for launch? It has been offered in the past. The guide is working in game for everything, but I cannot find the prequest guide for a jump start.

It is evident the people who work here have not played through a guide in a long time. I have levelled both an alliance and horde character to 60 in TBC Classic Anniversary and can say that the destination points for quest pick-ups and turn-ins are incorrect and/or up to 350 yards misplaced a decent percentage of the time. It’s really (NOT) fun doing concentric circles around the designated pick-up/turn-in wasting the time this guide is supposed to mitigate. The efficiency boasted by these guides are negated by wrong info.

Hey, can you provide details in a ticket or leave feedback on our discord. Obviously if you see issues we want to address it and make adjustments. So far I have not heard of any issues with the pathing but there could be a hiccup when we moved the guides over. Let me know!

Thanks for the work, however it sadly doesn’t work yet for me. The client sees the anniversary but when I log into the game it shows the addon but no guides are available.

Having used the manual installation option, none of the guides are working cause you guys have locked it all behind an account sign in. Even though I’m an elite member, as was required to download the guides to begin with, I am unable to use any of their content. This is frustrating. I tried fixing this in the client but, as you noted, the client doesn’t recognize TBC as existing yet.
