It's due to the simple fact that people tend to be interested in what they can't have :-). I'll find myself not playing WoW for months, and then when I want to come back, it will be maintenance day. It sucks and I try to tell myself that I can play it another day, but since I can't have it right then and there I bicker about it :-D.
