Some ideas...
1. Add an opacity setting for the 'Total Value of Grey Items" window.
2. If an LDB display addon is available, allow the display of the "Total value of Grey Items" as a LDB.
3. Hide the 'Total Value of Grey Items' window during pet battles and VehicleUI
