Start off by copying:
/Applications/World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns/ZygorGuidesViewer/Skin/<favorite skin color>/zglogo.tga
to somewhere else, like your desktop.
Then open it up with Gimp or Photoshop or whatever.
Change the image size to 64 x 64 (wish there was a 128 version) and allow it to crop the bottom off.
Unlock the background so you can edit it (Photoshop step)
Select all the black, it's all the same color so use magic wand with a Tolerance of 1.
Delete selection to expose the transparency.
Select All and Copy.
Launch Finder and locate ZygorUpdater.app.
Press CMD I or right click and select 'Get Info'.
In the upper left corner is the crummy default application icon. Click on it.
Press CMD V to paste your new Zygorific icon!
