Search Error

When I begin typing in the search box in the Guide Selector I receive the following error every time.

I didn't get any errors when I tested this. Try doing a full guide wipe/reset.

1. exit WoW
2. go to the WoW/Interface/Addons folder and delete the ZygorGuidesViewer folder
3. go to the WoW/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables folder and delete the Zygor files in there
4. run the desktop client and install a fresh copy of the guides
5. go back in game to test and let me know if that fixed it

Did the cleanup and the error went away for at least the first search.

Opened a couple of guides since I lost all of my progress on current guides, tried to do search and the error is back.

It could be an addon conflict so I will try with only Zygor installed and see if it happens again.

Deleted Interface & WTF folders. Installed Zygor only, performed same steps I did above and error is back. It is not my install.

Error again.

What are you trying to type in for the search?

I have loaded many different guides and tried several searches without getting any errors. I've had others in the office also test for this and none of us are able to get any errors when typing in the search box. When you have the guide selection window open in game what is the number shown in the bottom left corner?

The error occurs upon typing the first letter in the box. Note this doesn't stop the search from working. It is just annoying.

I am now running 6.1.15690 but it has been occurring for a while now.

Try this for a test.

1. Exit the game
2. Go to your WoW/Cache folder and delete everything in there
3. Go to your WoW folder and rename the Interface and WTF folders to Interface.Old and WTF.Old
4. Run the Zygor desktop client, click the refresh button in the top right, and then click on the Install button
5. Go in game to test and then let me know if that fixed it

I have done all of this except deleting the cache. I will delete the cache but the test above with the PasteBin links was with a new Interface and WTF folder with a new install of Zygor. It was the only addon installed.

I did as instructed and I found the bug for you. This is something you should be able to repeat.

Do I get paid for doing your work?

1. Select first guide, I searched for First and selected the "First Aid 700-800" guide.
2. Open Settings.
3. Click General and un-select "Show Zygor Chat messages.
4. Click Home.
5. Search for same guide.
6. Open Settings.
7. Click "Guide Menu" and select "Color code icons to show guide difficulty/status".
8. Click Home.
9. Search for same guide.
10. Open Settings.
11. Click "Guide Menu" and select "Hide completed guides".
12. Click Home.
13. Search for same guide and Voila!!! you have the error.
14. Open Settings.
15. Click "Guide Menu" and un-select "Hide completed guides".
16. Search for same guide and no error.

And BTW, "Hide completed guides" doesn't work anyway.

Ok, now we've been able to reproduce it. It's only that hide completed option that is causing the problem so steps 1-9 had no effect on it.

We'll get this fixed as soon as we can. You can avoid the error for now by not trying to hide completed guides until it's fixed.
