Another instance of the application is already running....

Another instance of the application is already running. We were unable to display it. Would you like to attempt to exit it? Yes No

    I click yes ...

We failed to shutdown the other instance of the Zygor Client. Try restarting your computer. If you continue having this issue, please contact our support staff for assistance.

I am contacting support staff I do not have another instance running. I have checked what is running in my task manager and nothing but WoW there.

    Thank You!

Try opening the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Escape) and in the Processes tab (pre-Win8) or the Details tab (Win8 or Win10) find the java.exe process that is running. When you find it end that process then try running the client again.

I am also having this problem and there isn't a java.exe running nor java scheduler within my OS instance's task manager (using windows 10) It simply loads then closes the zygor within my notification bar (where time and such sits) and then pops up the same message as OP. I click yes to have it close the instance and it closes zygor all the way you. now if I run zygor.jar then everything works, but when I run zygorguidesclient.exe it states the error/bug.

I did not have this problem before the version 8 wow patch update but now I do as of this month.

Now like I had mentioned about me clicking "yes", I am not presented with the followup message which the op was getting which the OP stated is supposed to be "We failed to shutdown the other instance of the Zygor Client. Try restarting your computer. If you continue having this issue, please contact our support staff for assistance."

When you were looking in the task manager you were looking in the Details tab and not the Processes tab?

Try uninstalling Java and then get a fresh copy of Java from www.java.com to reinstall.

the jar file works though, just a problem with the exe file -- was a flag or loop set wrong?

No one else has been reporting this error so it appears to only be you having the problem. I'm not even able to reproduce it. Try grabbing the following file and running it to do a clean uninstall of the desktop client. Then use the Members area download link to grab a fresh client installer and run that but don't change any check boxes. http://zygorguides.com/javaclient/dist/Uninstaller.exe

I ended up wiping all Java versions I had and using revo uninstaller to remove all traces of Java then I deleted all contents from the gaming drive (not my os drive) and reinstalled everything as if it were scratch. I now have no more problems so not sure what the problem was but I fixed it. Lol.
