I was given to understand that a subscription only giveaway is illegal as it constitutes gambling ?
As this is for an even smaller group than subscription only( ie US subscribers ) it compounds the issue .

you can also give a free one year subscription as a prize for the players from outside the US. Now we get nothing at all. If you make this available to elite members, you should do so for all elite members. I’m really going to consider whether I want to continue my elite membership. It doesn’t feel nice that I’m paying for something that others from a certain country can participate in and others cannot
