So, I just lost a complete days work on a new custom guide I was working on because I updated before I copied my guides out...

Can we get a special folder for custom guides?

Its SOOOOO easy to implement, theres no reason this cant have been done already.

And I mean, completely outside the standard addon folder.

So, we would have:

interface\addons\ZygorGuidesViewer
interface\addons\ZygorCustomGuides

Do NOT include the ZygorCustomGuides folder as part of the Zygor download, just have the addon check for this folder. If it exists, use it. Otherwise, carry on as normal.

You can already do this by turning your custom guides into an 'addon'. Just look at the guide_format.html file in the ZygorGuidesViewer folder.

I must have overlooked this information until now.
Thanks for the hint Cabby, I'll play around with this when releasing the next version of my guides.
