When I use my hoard person to go to the outland time-line, I talk the the mage downstairs in the portal room, the quest tells me to go and speak to general Orion after I have gone through it, the problem is, the guide tell me to go through the green portal, but the portal is red and no general Orion, only Khadgar, when I speak to him we go through the red portal only to start the Warlord time-line.

Use the Chromie Time guide to get the correct time line set.

I did, hence that's why I said Outland time line, which means I did go to chromie to get the quest to go to outland, the guide told me to go to see the mage in the portal room, then the guide told me to go to see general Orion, the the guide told me to go through the green portal, that's why a gave the screen shot.

Talk to Chromie again and make sure you selected the Burning Crusade time line and not the Draenor time line. What you are seeing in game is the Draenor time line.

After talking to Chromis for so many times I ignored the guide to go and talk to the mage and just go through the portal with out accepting the given quest by the mage, lo and behold, I was able to get to Outland and find general Orion, so the step to talking to the mage possibly a over sight in the guide.
