Email scam?

Hello,

I'm a new user. I received a few email from you guys about news promotions etc. Tonight, i received a new email saying that zygor had important news and that it was concerning the security of my account. I normally never click on those link but it comes from the same address that sent me my username/password when i registered on the website. So i would like to know if this is an email that came from you or if its a scam. Ty

It was an email promoting a product that had nothing at all to do with Zygor. If it didn't mention Zygor at all, you may have never gotten the email, or it went to your spam folder or something.

Yes, that email and email address are real. :-)

Email addresses can be "spoofed" using any readily available software able to be downloaded off the internet.. thus why you should never trust an email just because it looks to come from a reputable email address.

Our emails will have links that look like this in them :

Aweber.com is an email service we use for our email newsletter. The links in our emails are encrypted (for tracking purposes) when the emails are actually sent from Aweber. So, it would be difficult for someone to spoof that. But I suppose there's always a way, so just be careful.

One thing you could do is check our Announcements section on this forum for a thread with the same title as the email you received. We usually create forum threads and send emails with the same exact titles at the same time - same with our Facebook page if you check that.
