System Requirements? Really now I don't think so.

    This from Blizzard:
The minimum system requirements for World of Warcraft are:

    Windows XP 32bit (SP3), Windows XP 64bit (SP2), Windows Vista 32bit (SP1), Windows Vista 64bit (SP1):
Intel Pentium 4 1.3 GHz or AMD Athlon XP 1500
    1GB or more of RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® FX or ATI Radeon™ 9500 video card or better
DirectX-compatible sound card or motherboard sound capability
25 GB free hard drive space
A keyboard and mouse are required. Input devices other than a mouse and keyboard are not supported
You must have an active broadband Internet connection to play

Ok so why does my desktop computer:
      AMD PHENOM X4 3.2GHz
2 SAPPHIRE RAEDEON HD 4870X2 IN CROSSFIRE
      4GB DDR2 1066
      Windows Vista 64-bit Ultimate
Have all this and I have to run it on low video settings to get 50FPS anything above low and I drop to 30FPS.
      I also have a laptop:
      It's a HP DV 72270us
      Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
      Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000 2.0GHz
      4GB DDR3
      ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650
And I can run wow on good settings with water set to fair and sunshafts disabled and get 50FPS
How can my laptop run better than my desktop it shouldn't be able too
      / end rant

At least your doing better than me nin88. I can't get off low settings or it drops straight to 30FPS. But this just makes my point of how is my desktop not doing better than it is? Still

Could be any number of things from the video card(s) going bad, a bad setting for your FSB, CPU having a problem, bad swap file for windows, need to defrag the drive, some kind of virus hiding somewhere, etc.

This is most probably because you have Vertical Sync checked in video settings in WoW. This makes the frame rate stop at 60 FPS (60 FPS is the max limit that most monitors can display updates at). If you uncheck Vertical Sync you may get more FPS but on the other hand you may see some "tearing" when you turn quickly due to the fact that the game updates the screen quicker than the monitor is able to display it.

Just got home and now a new problem. Tried to boot up my desktop and after windows loads a blue screen pops up. If I'm reading it right before my computer resets it's because something is wrong with my drivers for my graphics cards. I had just updated to the ATI 10.9 drivers too
So I may be having to take to where I got my computer built and get it fixed

Use the F8 key during the booting process (before you would see the Windows logo) and boot into safe mode. In there revert your video drivers back to what they had been and see if that clears it up for you.

Wish my desktop worked because here's what I can do now on my laptop after downloading the 10.9a app profile from ATI:
                        http://img225.imageshack.us/f/wowscr...010024959.jpg/
Get at least 50FPS no matter if I'm near water,in a forest, taking a flying taxi, or in a city.
                        Here's before that:
                        http://img190.imageshack.us/f/wowscr...510191329.jpg/
If I can do that on my laptop then my desktop should be able to beat that if it was working /cry

                          chaos5061,

Do you get the BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) every time you boot or does it sometimes allow you to run the computer without problems? If you get that every single time you boot, there really is no option if the attempt to boot in Safe mode and it didn't work either. (I gather that if the OS had given you the option to boot to the previous version of your OS that was success that you already tried that and it didn't work either - sometimes you get that option, sometimes you don't). If you cannot boot via any option, the only choice you have is to reload the OS. You can certainly try to reload it right onto the location where it currently is (basically a repair) - and it may work, it may not. You are only risking 30 mins to an hour of your time. If that doesn't work, you have to 'parking lot it' (wipe it) and start over. If it's new like it sounds, I would completely remove the partitian and then recreate it to ensure that you don't get any lingering effects from the info that's currently stored on it.

Keep this in mind - if you are timid to try this - honestly, if you can't get it to boot and there's no critical info on the hard drive that you have to save, you aren't risking anything by either attempting to repair or reloading the OS on your own. The worst case scenario is that you'll end up having to get someone to help you and they'd have to start from scratch. Of course, if you did put some critical info on the hard drive, then you need to bring it to a professional who will load it as the 2nd drive, pull the info you put on it, then reload your drive and restore the data.

If you have any questions... feel free to ask here or PM me... I actually do this for a living...

                          Matt
PS. If you are able to boot successfully even every once in awhile, I'd work with that first - and the next time you are able to boot it, I would revert the video driver to a version a few versions prior to the one you are using. Do some research online and you will likely find suggestions to the most stable versions that work for your card.

As I said, try to uncheck the Vertical Sync checkbox and see how you like it. You may get higher FPS but you may also lose some picture quality.

Even the newest monitors shows pictures in 60Hz. It is possible to change it but 60Hz is the default value in Windows for 99% of all LCD monitors.
