Skill Strategy Suggestion Question

When I look at some of the skill suggestions in the teens, say for the Barbarian, it has:

Defensive Skill: Leap (Rune - Iron Impact)
Defensive Skill: Ground Stomp (Deafening Crash)

What does that mean? Is it that either would be ok since you can't have two defensive skills?

You can have 2 defensive skills (which is what is suggested) if you go into the options and on the gameplay page check the Elective Mode box on the right side.

This mode will allow you to use any combination of skills and put them into any slot you want.
