Try doing a guide reinstall.

1. exit WoW
2. go to the WoW/_retail_/Interface/Addons folder and delete any Zygor folders
3. run the desktop client and install a fresh copy of the guides
4. go back in game to test and see if that fixed it

I am getting "Error initializing, check the Lua errors and report them, please."

I have:
1. Delete addon from addon folder.
2. Deleted .lua files from SavedVariables folder.
3. Reinstalled zygor

On reinstall/restart, if Zygor is the only addon. It works. If I turn on other addons, Zygor shits itself while the other addons all work.

Where do I find these lua errors that I am likely supposed to paste here?

Yup, load literally any other addon, the new addon works and Zygor dies.

I can confirm this behaviour. I had to delete the Zygor*.lua files and disable all other addons just to get Zygor to load.

Try exiting the game, go to the wow/retail folder, and rename the WTF folder to WTF.old. See if that fixes the issue.

You mean, kill the properties and settings of all of my addons to satisfy yours?

No, the other addons work. Zygor does not.

BROKEN, NOT WORKING

I have used the “Repair” button in the Windows app (to try to fix the issue with the WoW Retail guide version 8.1.27822) and the problem in-game is still there: the Guide Viewer doesn’t work. it says “Loading…” but nothing shows and it’s stuck there, and the chat window shows the message “Zygor Guides Viewer: ERROR initializing, check the Lua errors and report them please.”

I also tried manually deleting the zygor folder in the addons folder of the retail game, installed again the guide with the Windows app, but the same situation, same problem, the in-game Guide Viewer is not working at all.

Try exiting the game, go to the wow/retail folder, and rename the WTF folder to WTF.old. See if that fixes the issue.

Thanks for all the input.
I was experiencing the the same LUA errors, and the guide veiwer not loading correctly.
With the "zygor /execconfig" command, and the hint in the LUA error that it might be the pointer, I was able to nail my issue down to the "Lock arrow" setting.
When I have the waypoint arrow locked, I experience the LUA errors. As soon as I uncheck the "Lock arrow" and reload, Zygor seems to be working fine.

Agreed with above. Turn of the lock arrow setting, and reload the UI. Guides will work then. Now these guys know where to go to look for a fix.
