Guides reset/history gone

I just logged on and noticed that the guide that I had up last night was no long up and that a different guide was loaded. I opened the menu and noticed that my Guides History was empty. The last guide I had up was the Pandarian Alchemy guide and today the guide that was up when I logged in was the Druid Intro & Artifacts Guide. I checked all my other characters and the same issue is on all of them. The wrong guide is up and the guides history is empty.

The only thing I know of that would affect that and do something like that would be if the settings sync backup with the desktop app restored an old settings file that had different info in it.

That may have been it because when I first opened the desktop app it seemed like it was updating because it was taking a while but then I noticed that the guide version was the same in both installed and latest.

If you go into the Downloads section of the desktop app settings you can change the sync to be manual and then it will only touch that file if you click Sync at the top of the main window.

I just had this same issue happen again. The sync updates is set to manual so I don't know why everything was wiped again. It's as if I just installed Zygor for the first time. All my settings are reset to the default and it's wanting me to do the setup wizard thing for each character. The odd thing is that on all my characters the guide that is loading is the class Intro & Artifact guide. Even on characters that haven't done Legion.

Since it just did it again try doing a full guide reset to see if making sure the settings file is completely fresh will have any impact on it. Maybe your settings file is just a bit buggy/corrupted.

1. exit WoW
2. go to the WoW/_retail_/Interface/Addons folder and delete any Zygor folders
3. go to the WoW/_retail_/WTF/Account/<your account name here>/SavedVariables folder and delete the Zygor files in there
4. run the desktop client and install a fresh copy of the guides

Did you try the full reset in my last reply?

Yes I did. And in order to be able to update to the newest version the other day I had to do a full reinstall.
