How do you find exact locations, such as 34, 42? Is there an add on you can use to chart exactly where you are in WOW?

The guide has a waypoint arrow that points towards the target coordinates. If you don't see the arrow check the guide settings if waypointing uses the built in arrow.
In addition there are several ways to see your coordinates.
Many map and minimap replacements (Carbonite, Mapster, SexyMap) show coordinates, TomTom (waypoint addon used by other addons like Archy) also brings this functionality.
Or you can use a small coordniate addon like Coordinator.
