Zygor more unstable of late ? Due to Gold Guide ?

It seems that the Zygor addon is a lot more unstable of late.
It seems to have only started being an issue since I installed the Gold Guide.
Before I added the Gold Guide I think I only reinstalled the Zygor guides once in many years.
Since I added the Gold Guide I keep getting various errors. They are always resolved by reinstalling the guides. I've reinstalled around 5 times in about 3 weeks.
Any ideas why it is breaking so often ?

What are the errors you've been getting? Are all enabled addons updated for 6.1 by their respective authors? Have you tried doing a game/addon wipe/reset by deleting everything in the WoW/Cache and renaming the Interface and WTF folder, then doing a fresh install of all addons?

The latest one was something about an autoscan being in progress.
This one was continually increasing in error number.
I've had others which were when logging in, mousing over gold guide icon, mousing over items in the gold guide, etc.

I get the errors on characters where only Zygor is running, as well on ones with other addons.

No. I have not tried that
The next time I get any of these types of errors I'll try that to see if it is Zygor or another addon causing a taint or something.
It's just weird I've only been having these errors since I added the Gold Guide.

Try doing a full guide wipe/reset.


1. Exit WoW
2. Go to the WoW/Interface/Addons folder and delete the ZygorGuidesViewer folder
3. Go to the WoW/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables folder and delete the Zygor files in there
4. Run the installer client and install a fresh copy of the guides
5. Go back in game and see if that fixed it

Okay, I've done that. Will see if it remains stable. Hopefully there was some crud in there that has gone now.

EDIT : Exited game. Ran Zygor client and restarted game and error no longer showing up. I guess the nil value has been updated with an exit of the character/game.

It only showed for that occasion. Doing the restart seems to have put it to bed.

Did a lot of buying and listing before this popped up.

EDIT : Again. Restarting the game seems to have made it go away.
EDIT2 : Spoke too soon. Popping up again.
EDIT3 : Relogging to another alt seems to have made it go away for now.

I've added this one to our bug list. You said it seemed to be fixed at first after a restart... is this by chance something that doesn't show up the first time you use it to open the Gold guide but pops up after you've opened and closed the Gold guide at least once?

I did mention that it popped up after doing quite a bit of buying and listing. So yes, this entailed opening and closing the Gold Guide several times.

Just thought I'd update you with my current situation.
Still get the odd error. But a quick reload cures them.
So things are a lot more stable now and not had any need to a repair for a while :-)
