7.1 zygor broken

Please try testing with all other addons disabled. I was in game with Zygor without any problems and no one else has been reporting any problems.

I'm having the same problems. I disabled all addons reloaded no issues I brought Zygor back online and so many LUA errors I now have the addon permanently disabled until its fixed I actually came here to post about it. So jjonessec isnt the only one.

I also find that response to be very rude...

As both NA and EU servers are now patched to 7.1 please make sure you use the latest guide version, there has been an update that adresses the problem that Blizzard deactivated certain LUA functions in dungeons and raids.

After the last WOW patch... the Guide will not work. Tried the repair option.. not working. Did the reinstall. still not working. Frustrated

Try doing a full guide wipe/reset.


1. exit WoW
2. go to the WoW/Interface/Addons folder and delete the ZygorGuidesViewer folder
3. go to the WoW/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables folder and delete the Zygor files in there
4. run the desktop client and install a fresh copy of the guides
5. go back in game to test and let me know if that fixed it

I did a full guide wipe reset and that fixed the fps issue. However now when I go into a dungeon, it no longer prompts to load dungeon guide for particular dungeon. I have to load it manually. That feature worked fine in 7.0, sort of wondering if the issue is related that it is stuck in loop trying to find the guide for appropriate dungeon?

as a very technical person, i got through this everytime a patch comes out, its broken still even at your latest version.

Blizzard changed it so that an addon does not know where you are when you are in an instance. This means we can't detect when you enter an instance in order to prompt you for loading the guide.

I believe you can still detect if the player has entered an instance via PLAYER_ENTERING_WORLD and WORLD_MAP_CHANGED events, but otherwise once you are inside, you can check IsInInstance() but that's it; no more detecting where in the instance the player is located.

Basically, there's some leftover items, including Astrolabe, that the updater hasn't cleared up properly. If you delete the ZygorGuidesViewer folder from "World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns", and use the Zygor desktop client to reinstall it, it should start working again as expected.

So I have reinstalled Zygor several times. Enabled and disabled all addons and I'm still have massive issues wit LUA errors popping up. Every time I enter a instance I have so many LUA errors I have to disable the addon. Everytime I open a new guide I get LUA errors. Everytime I teleport I get LUA errors. This addon is no longer functioning for me. I pay for this every month and it has not been functioning since 7.1 came out. I'm getting frustrated and coming on the forums all the admins are not saying there is anything wrong with the addon but keep blaming other peoples UI and installs. There is nothing interfering with zygor on my coupter I checked everything that has been suggested. So fix the addon please. I also can post all the LUA errors that I have been getting Ive been keeping logs if you want.

We are investigating this stuff but so far have been unable to reproduce the problem. Try this for a test.


1. Exit the game
2. Go to your WoW/Cache folder and delete everything in there
3. Go to your WoW folder and rename the Interface and WTF folders to Interface.Old and WTF.Old
4. Run the Zygor desktop client, click the refresh button in the top right, and then click on the Install button
5. Go in game to test and then let me know if that fixed it
