Guide stuck

Levelling my first character in classic using the in-game guide.

It told me to grind to 25 - which is fine. I used other mobs than the guide wanted but I still hit 25. It won't let me skip over the step and isn't recognising that i'm at 25

What am I missing? how can I fix this?

If you can't use the next step arrow to move to the next step that means there are no more steps in that specific guide. It should have popped up a window suggesting to load the next guide but if it didn't you can manually load the next guide in the list to continue.

ahh ok! just looked like there was lots of space left of the guide - i will load the next one and see what happens! thanks!

In classic there are a lot of class specific quests integrated into the guides so there is a good chance that any steps after that one were for a different class.
