World quests in different zones

When I pick a WQ in a different zone to my own covenant I get a message saying that the guide doesn't fit my character. Are we not supposed to do WQs in different zones? The WQs in the other zones have gear that's not available in mine (yet).

Sorry if this is a silly question - I've only just started out in the SL expansion...

Are you 60? Have you made sure you have the latest guide version installed?

Ah, I think it's because I hadn't progressed far enough in the covenant intro guide. Now that I've actually been assigned some covenant callings it's loading the WQ guides for different zones without a warning.
