What happened to the addon arrow giving you incremental updates along your path to your wq destination? That was nice. Now it just points you in a direction and says go to that quest 1,346 yards over there, which isn't very helpful.

This may just be a rough draft for that world quest. We are still constantly adding new world quests and polishing them to have the waypoints.Become a Fan of Zygor Guides on Facebook:

I've noticed it on nearly all wq's though. Regardless of distance. Arrow doesn't update at all. I mean it changes directions depending on which way you are facing, but it doesn't provide updates. And the ant trails just point in a strait line, leading you into the ocean, off cliffs, into walls, etc.

We got a lot of feedback of people not liking the super precise directions, because it limited their ability to roam and play the game more naturally, so we cut back a lot of those directions. But, world quests specifically, we can't really put precise directions to go accept a world quests, because of the random nature of world quests.
For example, we could put precise travel directions leading you to accept a world quest from a flight path, but you could already happen to be right next to the world quest because you just completed another world quest right next to it. So it could make completing world quests much more inefficient with a lot of unnecessary traveling, and thus wasting a lot of your time.
So our philosophy now is to only include travel directions that are crucial.Become a Fan of Zygor Guides on Facebook:

Well, I personally feel like it's a step backwards. I loved it. I mostly use the guides for wq's myself and found them to be very useful. I mean I can run around the map on my own without paying 7.99/month to do so. At the very least it should be an option. I find the guides to be less useful now then they were just a few days ago. To each their own I guess.

How is this helpful? The guide is essentially simply telling my which direction the quest is in, which the game already does easily enough.

For world quests, yes, sometimes. As I said in my previous post in this thread, this is unavoidable, because players do not always start world quests from the same location. We cannot assume where you will be when you are beginning to travel to a world quest, because world quests are random in nature, and you could have completed another world quest near the world quest you are starting.
So if we assume you are going to start from a flight path, this could be inaccurate, and the guide could make you travel extra distance unnecessarily, because you're already close to the world quest. This would cause people to complain that the guide is making them travel when they don't need to.
And without those directions, people complain that sometimes they run into situations like this where they need to navigate the terrain on their own. So either way, people complain. So based on feedback we've received over the years, we write world quests like this because it's been shown to be how most people prefer them to be written, because it allows more freedom in their gameplay.
Unfortunately, no solution will be the perfect solution for every single person, so we have to just cater to what most of our customers enjoy.Become a Fan of Zygor Guides on Facebook:

I mean, i understand both sides but there is a realy nice feature in your guide viewer called "show step travel directions". So before the latest updates there were some steps listed to guide you around obstacles and reach your destination and with this option on you saw those steps. But if you clicked the last travel direction shown you got a waypoint arrow like it is now -> straight to your destination and freedom to roam arround.
So maybe you could add an option where you always jump to the last travel direction and with that feature you could serve both sides. Of course you can't always deliver perfect routes but it would definitly solve the problem with that unnecessary extra distance some complained here.
Love your work, keep it up.
