Where are the speed gold run pre-quests?

They are all in the Dailies WotLK section. You want to do the Icecrown Full Zone Guide, the Storm Peaks Full Zone Guide, and get yourself to exalted with Sons of Hodir. Those are the pre-requisites to run the Gold Run (no ATG) guide. If you want to do the one with ATG then you need to do all of the Argent Tournament Grounds Champion stuff also.

I havent run these since cata came out, but from what I have been told the gold amounts are still the same once you now hit level 85. So a little over 300g can be made on the run still.

How much time would it take to complete the round of quests?

Just over an hour once you get familiar with them.

Figure if you pay a mage to port you to dal for 10g you still make over 290g for the run.
Usually I ask a mage in guild to port me.

Set your home as close to ATG as you can, then use the slower mass transit to leave Northrend if you have to. With your flying mount and basing yourself out of ATG you're really close to a lot of the stuff.

For my jewelcrafter that still needs to get some recipes from the Dalaran daily I bought the tabard at the Tournament so I can teleport there and set the hearthstone to Stormwind.
If you have enough gold and no problems spending it you can also buy the Kirin Tor ring in Dalaran.
A third possibility for engineers is the wormhole generator:

But using the ship and flying is normally the fastest option as on most servers you search quite a while to find a mage for a port depending on the time you are playing. As Alliance char you normally wait about a minute for the ship to the tundra and the new flight path from there to Dalaran takes less than 6 minutes.
