It is my own fault, I chose not to read the quest and just followed what the guide said...but for the Fishing Daily quest A Staggering Effort, step 12 has you go to the dock on the Valley of Honor to fish up the Sandy Carp. I just spent half an hour trying to do just that until I read the actual quest text and it tells me to go to the Valley of Wisdom.
