Difference between different leveling guides?

Can anyone please explain to me the difference between the three different leveling guides for each zone? Example Bastion, Bastion (Threads of Fate), and Bastion (Story Mode). When is appropriate to follow one guide vs the other(s)? Please and thank you.

Threads of Fate guide skips the story line and is just the side quests. The Story Mode is the opposite where it's just the story line quests and skips the side quests. The normal one has it all.

On your first toon to level to 60 you must use either the normal one or the Story Mode one because you need to complete the story line quests to unlock the ability to level without doing the story line.
