Opinion Poll: Do You Like Detailed Travel Directions In The Guides?

The Zygor Team is hard at work creating all-new guides for the upcoming Legion expansion and we would like to hear your thoughts on how you’d prefer us to handle travel directions going forward. In Draenor, we started adding detailed travel lines to steps to help players navigate the game world more precisely. This gave a feeling of being more “on rails” while using the guide.

However, we’ve realized that some players might feel like these are unnecessary, and may prefer the old way that Zygor used to handle traveling. But before making any changes to the way the guides are written, we wanted to get your opinion on this feature.

Please click the link below to take our short survey (it’s only 2 questions). Your responses will help shape the future of Zygor Guides, and we would appreciate your feedback very much!

As many have said, need to have it to where you can just go straight to the objective point for flying mounts. Also would like to see it to where you can type in a point and it gives you the shortest route there. When I’m half way across the world and want to get to someplace on another continent it sure would be handy. That or roll a mage lol.

Perhaps two modes? One for walking, and one for flying? And I LOVE the idea of typing in a point and it tells you the shortest/quickest route…I have learned a lot in the last few years in Azeroth, but I still get lost going to areas I haven’t been through in awhile. 🙂

Travel details are helpful before flying After that they get stuck on a waypoint bypassed. If they could recalculate enroute much like a GPS in the real world, it would make them much for functional. Turning around after completing a quest just to clear a WP before the guide catches up is irritating and wastes time (the purpose of the guide is to avoid having to backtrack to many time).

I like them when I don’t have flying. Go to this spot, run up the hill, etc. However, once you have flying, then can end up wasting time, since you can usually fly straight to a given point. Maybe a flying mode?

I love Your travel directions on You guides. They are actually one of the big reasons I bought Your product in the first place ( after only a few times using ur trial actually) Don’t second guess what You know to be true, this is one of Your original successes and improving upon it can only be a good thing. part of Your original client base probably had a lot of people like me who got lost or are unfamiliar with WOW. This was my first time in the gaming world and You guys made it a lot more fun. so thanks for that

I like the detailed travel instructions but it would be nice if (1) the level of detail was configurable, and (2) the waypoint system knew when you had already passed through a waypoint (maybe changed the color of the dot) and didn’t keep pointing to it. Also, not really related, I wish wish wish there was a search function so I could find quest givers, quests and targets much easier when I am having to bounce around in the guides. Zygor Guides makes gaming much more fun for me! Great job!

Love the detailed instructions. The toggle thought is a needed function, as detailed instructions turn obsolete when flying is achieved. I’m glad you’re thinking of these little details. Great JOb.

No, I do not like the detailed travel guide. More often than not, the travel guide has no idea where I am, especially when I enter a building or cave. When working on achievements and lore with my main the travel guide is pointless thanks to my flying mount.

Actually I don’t like the detailed guides as they can never figure out how to get you from where you are to where you need to be often time without going to back to a know starting place. What would be very helpful if the direction arrow could some how point up and/or down when the end point is below or above the ground. I know the notes often detail this information but having it know you need to go up or down to reach the entrance point would be extremely helpful.

When trying to find things after leaving quest trails and coming back it is a game changer for me. As an older player with a terrible memory forgetting where I left off happens all the time. The guides help tremendously to get right back into the game after being offline for a few days.
