Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the Burning Crusade Classic will be launching on June 1st with pre-patch set to go live on May 18th. Likewise, we will be releasing Zygor’s Burning Crusade Classic guides around these dates as well.
First, on May 18th, we will push a release to make the existing Classic addon work with the new addon api being introduced with TBC. This will retain the look and feel of the current Version 7 style viewer. On the content side, we will add in the new starter guides for the Draenei and Blood Elf races, as well as a revised questing path for 1-60.
Then, before TBC launches, we will update the addon to match the Version 8 viewer and add in the 60-70 content for leveling in Outland. Note that this is only referring to the addon feature set – the actual version number seen on the client will be something like 2.0.xxxxx to distinguish it from retail guides.
The Leveling guides will be available at launch, and we will be working as quickly as possible to add in additional guides for Dungeons, Gold, and Professions after that.
We will keep this post updated if any changes in these plans occur.
