Blizzard Entertainment announced earlier today that the Shadowlands expansion will be getting a delay until later this year. We’re quite pleased to hear this because, while we do have our guides updated from the beta, it was obvious the expansion itself needed more time for polish.

While this may be disappointing news, the good news is that the Shadowlands pre-patch, which will add in new player customization options, the level squish, and a new pre-patch event, is scheduled to go live on October 13th. Likewise, we will be releasing an update to our addon to make it work with the patch and new guides to cover the event.

The expansion delay will also give us time to refine some of the new features and enhancements we have in store for Zygor Guide Viewer 8, which we’re really excited about and think you will be as well. Stay tuned for more…

A new update (Version 7.0.23159) is now available for download that adds in updated Brewfest guides for the event quests, dailies, and achievements. This is a free update to all Zygor Guide users who have a Basic or Elite account. You can download the update through the Zygor Guides client. If you’re not already a Zygor member you can sign up for a free account here.

At Zygor Guides, we have always strived to have the highest quality content with the most innovative features to enhance players’ gameplay experience.

Currently, across the base game and its 7 expansions, we now have almost 8000 guides per faction, covering Leveling, Dungeons, Dailies, Gold, Professions, Collectibles, Achievements, and more. So far, we have over 500 guides for Classic.

For new patches and expansions, we have consistently had the most guide content available on DAY ONE of each new release. This has always been an important goal for us because we know players want to experience as much of each new expansion as they can immediately upon release.

New Zygor Elite Subscription Changes:

Maintaining guides for a game as enormous and ever-changing as World of Warcraft requires us to invest significant resources into an expanding team of skilled writers and developers. As we continue to add more content and features, we may occasionally adjust our plans and prices accordingly. For this reason, we will soon be simplifying and making the following changes to our subscription plans:

These new changes will go into effect on October 18th. If you are already a Zygor Elite subscriber, your subscription price will not change at all as long as your subscription remains active. However, if you cancel your subscription and wish to reactivate at a later date, you will need to sign up at the new rates. For this reason, we encourage everyone to sign up before October 18th if you wish to lock in the current rates.

Shadowlands Launch Plans…

We will be starting to share news about our Shadowlands guides very soon. We are extremely excited to reveal the new features and improvements we’ve been cooking up for Zygor Guide Viewer 8, and once again, we will have the most Shadowlands guides available anywhere on day one!

In World of Warcraft: Classic, it’s very important to train and upgrade your class spells as you level.  This is different from Retail WoW where class spells are learned and upgraded automatically. If you don’t stay on top of this it can have a drastic impact on survivability and how effectively you level.

In order to help with this, we’re adding in a new feature: Class Skill Training Reminders. These are notifications that popup wherever you encounter an opportunity to train new abilities, such as when you first enter the game, when you level up, when you enter a capital city, or when you’re close to your class trainer. If you decide to postpone these notifications for later then the system will simply show a toast notification rather than the popup. When you’re ready, you can use the Find Trainer feature to have the Waypoint Arrow direct you to the trainer to pick up your skills.

Phase 5 for World of Warcraft: Classic goes live today and we have a new round of guide updates (Version 1.0.22762)  to go along with it.

Ahn’Qiraj War Effort is a server-wide world event to open the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj which will make 2 new raid instances available : the 20 man Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj (aka AQ20) and the 40 man Temple of Ahn’Qiraj (aka AQ40).

There are three phases to this event:

The gathering of War Effort Supplies, which both factions work towards, and The Scepter of the Shifting Sands, which is a questline for elite guilds. At the end of both these phases there is a Ten Hour War in Silithus.

* Added Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj Cloak Quest – Quest and material collection required for epic AQ20 cloak.
* Added Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj Ring Quest – Quest and material collection required for epic AQ20 ring.
* Added Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj Weapon Quest – Quest and material collection required for epic AQ20 weapon.
* Added Temple of Ahn’Qiraj Shoulder Quest – AQ40 class tier 2.5 shoulder armor quest.
* Added Temple of Ahn’Qiraj Boots Quest – AQ40 class tier 2.5 foot armor quest.
* Added Temple of Ahn’Qiraj Helm Quest – AQ40 class tier 2.5 head armor quest.
* Added Temple of Ahn’Qiraj Legs Quest – AQ40 class tier 2.5 leg armor quest.
* Added Temple of Ahn’Qiraj Chest Quest – AQ40 class tier 2.5 chest armor quest.
* Added Signet Ring of the Bronze Dragonflight – Ring reward upgraded by gaining reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu.
* Added Cenarion Battlegear – Four quests to unlock the Champion’s, Stalwart’s, Veterans, and Volunteer’s battlegear from the Cenarion Circle.
* Added Cenarion Field Duty Combat Assignments – Repeatable quests to gain currency for cenarion battlegear quests.
* Added Cenarion Field Duty Tactical Assignments – Repeatable quests to gain currency for cenarion battlegear quests.
* Added Cenarion Field Duty Logistics Assignments – Repeatable quests to gain currency for cenarion battlegear quests.
